3000 YEARS APART
Three thousand years — this is the distance between us and the makers with whom we now co-create a new ceramics exhibition at the Zamek Górków Museum in Poland.
Our contemporary ceramic works are presented alongside vessels of the Lusatian culture, which inhabited this region during the Bronze Age. The archaeological ceramics on display come from excavations at the cemetery site in Wartosław.
This unique juxtaposition of prehistoric ceramics and contemporary studio pottery reveals a continuity of form, gesture, and artistic sensitivity. Encountering such highly accomplished and refined examples of ancient ceramics is both an honor and a profound experience for us.
The dialogue between archaeological objects and contemporary ceramic art invites reflection on how human life has evolved over centuries, while certain values and creative impulses continue to endure — embedded in material, gesture, and memory.
The exhibition was initiated by Ryszard Pietrzak, an archaeologist associated with the Szamotuły region.
Location: Zamek Górków Museum in Szamotuły.
