This classical and quiet chawan is inspired by the form of a rice bowl - it has a rather tall foot ring and soft, S-shaped line of the body. It features a simple off-white glaze with delicate craquelure, based on local feldspar. It tends to develop a beautiful patina from tea - this matcha bowl will become more beautiful and wabi-sabi over time.The claybody from which it's made is light and sandy - giving it a pleasant, warm feel.
