This black vase is an interpretation of the Korean maebyeong bottle, often used for displaying plum blossoms. Here, the elegant form, traditionally reserved for subtle green celadon glazes is matched with black earthenware. This type of pottery has been made for thousands of years in many regions worldwide, including Poland. The surface is matt, rough and covered with flame marks. The black pottery is porous, hence this vase was treated with beeswax to make it watertight.
It is suitable for living flowers.
This is one of a kind piece.
