BOOK
The catalogue accompanying the exhibition "KAMIEŃ I POPIÓŁ" at Górków Castle Museum in Szamotuły presents a multidimensional overview of the work of Huba ceramic studio, founded by Jakub Ciemachowski and Piotr Kołakowski in 2021.
The publication documents the process of creating ceramics fired in a wood-kiln, revealing both the material dimension of working with clay and the reflections behind it — on craftsmanship, nature, and the contemporary experience of utility. Alongside photographs of all the objects presented in the exhibition, the catalogue includes images from the creative process as well as essays dedicated to working methods, inspirations, and the philosophy of the studio, based on ideas of simplicity, locality, and conscious use of resources.
The catalogue presents Huba’s practice as a continuation of a centuries-old tradition of transforming natural materials into everyday objects, placing it within the context of the contemporary revival of craftsmanship.
The publication consists of 128 pages and is presented in a hardcover edition. The print run is limited to 250 copies.
Please note that the book is written in Polish.
